BOARD RIDERS CLUB RULES

You must meet ONE of the following requirements
A) Born and raised
B) Attended Elementary, MS, HS or College
C) 5+ years residency
D) Direct inland residents if they surf hometown on a regular basis. If inland from multiple breaks and clubs, surfer will have the choice to select the club they surf for.
E) Each surfer gets one chance to "jump" clubs. But, once you jump and surf for another club, that is final.
Note: Any special circumstances must be addressed to WCBR board for approval. The Commissioner’s decision is final.

7 divisions with 4 surfers per division (U14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & up, Women any age).
Age eligibility is calculated by the age you are the day of each WCBR event.
Surfer must surf their age division, NO surfing up or down age groups.
Women may surf in their age group or in the Women’s Heat, but only one heat per event.
Their is a non member division for those who do not wish to compete. Non members can participate in all events that require membership and attend our annual luau.

•Tag Team
•WSL Judging criteria, interference, and priority rules.
•Max 5 teams, 4 surfers per division, 1-hour heat.
•One surfer at a time from each team in the water.
•First surfer starts heat in designated tag area (Beach start).
•Next surfer must be tagged in designated area. If tagged outside the designated area team gets 1 point deduction.
• The last surfer per team must be in the tag area by end of heat or get a 5 point deduction.
•3 wave maximum per surfer with best wave scoring.
•Each team has one “Double Whammy Surfer” (DWS)—DWS must raise both hands up within 10-15 seconds after their wave to be rewarded DW points (double points).

The Hawaii Cup is a premier surfing competition held in Haleiwa, bringing together top talent from Hawaii Board Riders chapters across the islands. This event showcases the skill, style, and camaraderie of Hawaii’s surf communities, celebrating the sport’s rich heritage.
Competitors from each chapter represent their home breaks, competing for points and the title of champion. Join us to watch the action and experience the stoke from December 26 to January 2 during the waiting period!

World Club Challenge
The Usher Cup heads to the world-famous Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast, Australia, from January 17 to January 19. This prestigious event brings together top surfers from around the globe, including international teams, to compete in a celebration of surfing excellence.

USBR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The USBR National Championships will be held at the renowned Lower Trestles in California, where surfers from across the United States will come together to compete for the national title. Taking place in May 2025, this event will feature the best surfers representing their chapters and regions, showcasing the skill, passion, and camaraderie that defines the sport of surfing in the USA.
Lower Trestles, known for its consistent and challenging waves, provides the perfect setting for the USBR National Championships. Surfers will compete in various heats, aiming to secure points and advance through the rounds to claim the championship title. This event not only highlights top talent but also strengthens the bond among the surf community across the country.
